I have made it my personal priority, as your Chairwoman, to work closely with our local cities. Alongside our cities, we will continue to build a safer, healthier, and more sustainable county. I am honored today to have earned their support for our re-election campaign.
I am pleased to announce today that twelve of our Gwinnett Mayors have endorsed our campaign! These Mayors include Lois Salter of Berkeley Lake, Kurt Ward of Braselton, Phillip Beard of Buford, Greg Whitlock of Duluth, Allison Wilkerson of Grayson, David Still of Lawrenceville, Skip Baliles of Loganville, Craig Newton of Norcross, Mike Mason of Peachtree Corners, Barbara Bender of Snellville, Brandon Hembree of Sugar Hill, and Jimmy Burnette of Suwanee.

Every year from January until April, our Georgia State Legislature gathers under the Gold Dome in Atlanta to chart major decisions around policies like education funding, healthcare access, and transportation investments. Their decisions impact so many of the day-to-day needs of our Gwinnett residents, and we work closely with our Gwinnett Legislative Delegation to ensure Gwinnett’s values are being represented.
Those partnerships have been valuable, and I am honored today to share endorsements from a dozen of our local State Legislators, including several members of Democratic Party leadership. Endorsements today include Senate Minority Caucus Leader Gloria Butler, Senator Nabilah Islam-Parkes, Senator Nikki Merritt, House Minority Caucus Chair Billy Mitchell, House Minority Caucus Whip Sam Park, Representative Segun Adeyina, Representative Jasmine Clark, Representative Shelly Hutchinson, Representative Dar’shun Kendrick, Representative Gregg Kennard, Representative Pedro Marin, and Representative Long Tran.

Great county leadership knows that it is a part of a broader region. While Gwinnett continues to be a premier destination within the Atlanta metropolitan region and may be the region’s most populous county within the next fifteen years, regional partnerships are critical to advancing solutions to our top issues. Whether it be housing affordability, connectivity and transit, or climate-consciousness and sustainability initiatives, we need regional partners across the Atlanta region to achieve significant progress.
I am honored today to share an endorsement by one of those key regional partners sitting at the center of our region, Atlanta’s Mayor, Andre Dickens. As the new Chair of the Atlanta Regional Commission, Mayor Dickens has championed regional collaboration and coordination to meet the pressing challenges of our time, whether it be housing affordability, job creation, or regional connectivity. It’s an honor to serve alongside my friend and colleague in the Atlanta region, and I am honored to have his endorsement.
